Jade Anderson is 15 years old, lives in Alameda, California, and is a freshman at Sacred Heart Preparatory. She has been studying the piano since she was four years old and plays both classical and ragtime music. While under the tutelage of Mr. Kent Tchii, Jade participated in many events that ranged from simple monthly recitals to competitions and conventions including last fall when she won a piano concerto competition, which allowed her to perform with an orchestra at Holy Names University
Jade has been a participant in the West Coast Ragtime Competition for the past four years, winning first place in 2017 and placing every other year. This will be Jade's second year as a Youth Performer at the Festival after participating in a master class the year before. In addition Jade played at the 2018 Sutter Creek Festival. Jade is currently being instructed by Ms. Kai-Chi Zhu of San Jose.
