Oliver Moore, 18 years old, is rapidly becoming known as one of today's top young pianists. As an intrepid interpreter of both the ragtime and classical repertoire, he has won prizes in piano competitions across the country. Having been introduced to ragtime at the age of 7, his addiction to syncopation runs deep, but it wasn't until attending the 2015 WCRF that he saw the infinite possibilities of this music. He looks to treat each rag as a masterpiece, finding the right balance between his own 21st century view of these pieces and authentic period performance
Oliver Moore has been featured as soloist with the Hollywood Chamber and Paradise Symphony Orchestras, and will be performing with the North State Symphony in Chico and Redding, CA in February 2020. He has also been a featured performer in the Scott Joplin International, West Coast, and Sutter Creek Ragtime Festivals, and has participated in the International Institute for Young Musicians. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in piano performance at the Univeristy of Kansas under Dr. Scott McBride Smith
