Andrew Sacks

Andrew Sacks, 17 years old, is an up-and-coming youth performer from Westchester County, NY. He has been playing piano since he was 5 years old, and had been listening to ragtime for a long time — one of his obsessions is the Titanic and its songbook, which features multiple rags by Scott Joplin, Abe Holzmann and others. He started playing ragtime and developing his pianistic skills in 2017.

Soon afterwards, he met Michael Chisholm who introduced him to the larger ragtime community and mentored him, Andrew has also been bitten by the "sheet music collecting" bug and has developed a hefty library of Ragtime-era sheet music in less than 1 year. In addition to being a performer, Andrew is also a composer; his pieces are "authentic", representing the time period and region in which they were inspired.
