Cynthia Glinka teaches dances that represent several periods of the 20th Century including the 1920s, ‘30s and the Big Band Era with dance favorites including the Swing, Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Salsa, One Step, Rumba and Charleston.

Glinka’s love and enthusiasm for music, combined with her entertaining teaching style gives students the confidence they often need to enjoy this rewarding past time.

The choreographer, performer and producer has promoted social dancing with her passion for dance, high energy and expertise for the past 20 years, dancing through the ages as she gets several generations out On The Dance Floor. Glinka’s focus is promoting the joys of social dance as she introduces its benefits to youngsters, baby-boomers, seniors, wedding couples, the corporate world and even movie stars.

Cynthia’s third feature film as choreographer for the independent film SWING is scheduled for DVD release this Fall along with a bonus track of Behind the Scenes with Dance, where she invited the Bay Area’s best dancers to ‘showcase their moves" along with principals Jacqueline Bissett, Barry Bostwick and Jonathan Winters. Glinka also served as dance coach and choreographer for the Warner Bros. film Sweet November, starring Keanu Reeves, choreographing a pivotal dance scene and personally coaching the Matrix star. Glinka’s first film credit was for Paramount Pictures film Jade which featured 500 dancing extras and principal actors David Caruso, Chazz Palminteri and Linda Fiorentino.

Cynthia was honored to be a spokesperson in the KQED documentary of Big Band Magic - a celebration of the great Bay Area Dance Halls of the 1940's, available through KQED Public Television.

For the younger generation, Glinka teaches a popular 10-week session focusing on social manners and social dance for Marin County, California 6th graders. This wonderful program concludes with a grand ball as the youngsters dance to a 15 piece orchestra. In addition, wedding couples hire Glinka for instruction for the "First Dance - A Nightmare or a Honeymoon?".
