Richard
Duree is a nationally recognized dance ethnologist and historian with over
46 years of experience in dance as performer, choreographer, researcher, writer,
producer and teacher. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Dance Ethnology and
was an Adjunct Associate Professor of Dance with Coast Community College in
Orange County for 15 years. His professional dance company, Dunaj International
Folk Ensemble, with a wide repertoire of dance from Europe and the United
States, has performed throughout California for over 25 years and even toured
Hungary and Croatia. With his wife and dance partner, Ruth Levin, they
have taught at the Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival, Orange County RagFest, Sedalia
Ragtime Festival, and now return for the sixth time to teach at the West Coast
Ragtime Festival. They specialize in couple dance technique, including leading,
following and improvisation. They will be teaching beginning and intermediate
level Tango and Waltz.
