Mark Allen Jones began playing piano at the age of five, and attended the University of Southern California School of Music. At the age of 18, Mark began playing piano professionally at Shakey's Pizza in Pasadena. Mark was the pianist for the celebrated Hot Frogs Jumping Jazz Band for several years, also playing with other bands and performing as a solo. He has worked on the Mississippi Queen steamboat, and appeared at Boggstown Cabaret in Indiana for two years. He also wrote and performed in the "Ragtime Lil" show in Branson, MO for a year. He was offered a two week gig in Atlantic City, and stayed there for 5 years. He formed his own band; the Hot Jazz Pie which performed full time at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Mark currently plays with various bands and as a solo primarily in the Bay area. Whether its jazz, ragtime, popular, honky tonk, or novelty, Mark states "I just try to play what people want to hear and try to make them happy." Mark currently resides in Carmel, CA. |
