Jim Radloff began ‘playing’ piano at the age of 3 by mimicking radio commercials and plays primarily by ear. During college he played in saloons and piano bars. From 1975 – 1992 he had the Jim Radloff band. Since 1989 he has concentrated on ragtime, early jazz, blues and old vaudeville tunes. His passion for historical American music of the 1890’s – 1930’s led to the formation of the Chippewa Valley Ragtime Society (cvragtime@earthlink.net) in 2001.

Born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin, Jim is a licensed clinical social worker, with a BS in correctional administration and a masters degree in social work. He served in the peace corps in the Dominican Republic from 1963-1965.

Jim is Music Director for the Eau Claire Ragtime Festival (January), which donates all proceeds to local non-profit organizations, see www.ecragtime.org. He performs interactive concerts and piano performances for schools, libraries, private parties, civic, cultural and corporate organizations.
