Stan Isaacs has been teaching and researching Vintage Dance for the past 25 years. During that time he has been Dance Master and taught at his own group the Pomander Club, which since has become the Varsity Dance Club in Palo Alto, CA. He has an extensive collection of research materials, and is particularly interested in the early history of the Foxtrot. In addition to teaching at the West Coast Ragtime Festival, Stan and his wife, Karen Kalinsky, have taught workshops hosted by PEERS in San Mateo, and by the San Diego Vintage Dance Society held at the University of San Diego, Scripps College in Claremont, CA, and on the Queen Mary in Long Beach Harbor. The Varsity Dance Club holds a Tea Dance the 3rd Sunday afternoon of every month, with live music from about 1900 to 1935 by the Paul Price Society Orchestra.
