Marti Lindholm grew up in San Luis Obispo and like Stanley Stern, also started studying piano at an early age. Later she graduated with degrees in piano performance and a PhD in music education. Stanley graduated with degrees in musical theater, and also obtained a PhD in the education of gifted and talented children. When Stanley and Marti met they became a piano duo and now perform in many locations around the Central Coast of California. For the last eight years Stanley has played for the dance instruction at the West Coast Ragtime Festival. This year Marti will join him as they play cake-walks, one-steps and two-steps, trots, tangos, waltzes and many other popular dances from the Ragtime era. |
