Historic Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival 2023 August 11, 12, and 13 |
The Historic Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival is ready to make history! This year marks our 25th year anniversary celebration! This prestigious festival brings the exuberant sounds of Ragtime, Stride, Boogie Woogie, and Early Jazz to the quaint town of Sutter Creek nestled in the Sierra Foothills, every second weekend in August. This year's dates are August 11 - 13th. We not only have top notch pianists from around the country this year, but we have more small groups including the Pacific Coast Ragtime Orchestra, The Key System Rhythm Ramblers, our local Amador Clarinet Quartet playing ragtime, The Free Badge Serenaders, duets and more. Many of our performers have been a part of the festival for 15+ years and say that this is their favorite festival in the country and they cannot wait to come back to share their music with festival goers and locals. This year our talented performers range from aspiring youth performers to nationally recognized artists/pianists who travel around the country and abroad to entertain. Some of our current lineup includes: Frederick Hodges, Carl Sonny Leyland, Matt Tolentino, Paul Orsi, Brian Holland and Danny Coots, Pacific Coast ragtime Orchestra, Vincent Johnson, Virginia Tichenor, Keith Taylor and more. Within our three-day festival there will be a Saturday Evening Concert, A Sunday finale concert, A youth concert, Jam sessions, Duets and open Piano times, Festival opens at 4:00 PM on Friday and runs through to 4:00 PM on Sunday. Musicians perform at 5 venues along Main Street Sutter Creek. Venue locations are the Sutter Creek Auditorium, Hotel Sutter, Choc-O-Latte, The Community Center, and Backroads.
