Ragtime Piano web site is the creation of Ted Tjaden. The site
includes lots of information on ragtime piano with links to ragtime
sheet music in the public domain. Future additions will include MP3
ragtime recordings by Ted of featured rags. |
For over twenty years, the
Friends of Scott Joplin has been your source for great ragtime music in St. Louis. In addition to working closely with the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site to present great performers from around the
country, their Ragtime Rendezvous is (usually) on the first Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. in the New Rosebud Cafe, adjacent to the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site on the corner of Delmar and Beaumont, one block west of Jefferson in St Louis' midtown neighborhood. The Ragtime Rendezvous is open-piano, but they encourage folks to bring along any other instruments as well, or, if to sing is your thing, feel free to get up and sing your favorite ragtime song. Check their website for local ragtime gigs and other events as well. |

For over a quarter century, the Kecskemét Jazz Foundation has hosted the annual Bohém Ragtime & Jazz Festival in Kecskemét, Hungary. If you can't make it there in person, the festival is streamed live on their web site.

Kansas
City Ragtime and Beyond is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the
promotion and preservation of Kansas City's legacy of ragtime music. K. C.
Ragtime Revelry, Inc. was incorporated in 1993 as a non-profit organization
dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Ragtime music as part of Kansas
City's history. They produced a small festival for five years, from
1993 through 1997. Now, they have 3 or 4 small concerts throughout the
year instead. They publish a quarterly Newsletter: Revelry

Old Town Music Hall is a small 1920's theater located in El Segundo, California fully restored to its original
elegance. Home of the Might Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, The OTMH presents movies of the silent film era and live music performances, including ragtime and a ragtime music festival. The theater began as a concept that started in 1958 by Bill Coffman and Bill Field with the purchase of the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ from the Fox West Coast Theater in Long Beach CA.

Orange
County Ragtime Society — OCRS was founded by ragtime pianist and composer
Eric Marchese. One of the main purposes of OCRS is to allow the public to hear
the many fine pianists who live and perform in Southern California who
specialize in American pop music circa 1895-1930. OCRS held its first meeting
November 10, 2001. OCRS puts on the annual RagFest,
Orange County's Ragtime Music Festival. |

Formed in December 2005, the Raspberry Jam Band has become part of the music scene in the Sacramento, Sierra Foothills and Bay Area. They have participated in the Ragtime Corner of the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the West Coast Ragtime Festival, the Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival as well as many other venues. Leaf Ragtime Club This Southern California club meets
on the last Sunday of each month, from 1:00 PM until about 4:00 PM in the banquet room of Wang's Place (a.k.a. Wang's Palace), located in Old Town Monrovia, at 120 E. Swedish Ragtime Home Page is run by Oleg Mezjuev who lives in Järfälla (north of Stockholm), Sweden. He was hooked on ragtime in 1985, and has been maintaining the Swedish Ragtime Home Page web site since 1996 when he first started sharing Swedish rags with other ragtime fans. |

Every year over Memorial Day weekend in Oxford, Mississippi (new home), the Old-Time Music Preservation Association (OMPA) stages the
World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest to educate people about old-time piano music written prior to 1940. This is a weekend packed with Ragtime, Tin-Pan Alley and Standard tunes played by amazing piano players.
