		Honoring Ragtime Women Composers - Past and Present! - Sat. 17:30 - 18:15 Folsom Ragtime Piano Duo, Jack and Chris Bradshaw, have mined a collection of ragtime gems from the pens of women composers that span over 100 years. Come hear this collection of works by such notables as Aufderheide, Blake, Niebergall, Shepherd, Widmer to Blais, Bostick, Bradshaw and Migachyov.

		Music of Ernesto Nazareth - Friday 9:15 pm, California Morten plays a set featuring the works of Ernesto Nazareth.

		A Tango Ragtime Set - Sat. 20:45 - 21:30 Junior Ezequiel demonstrates the differences and similarities between tango and ragtime rhythms.

		An All-Originals Set - Sat. 15:45 - 16:30 Junior Jeff plays a set of his own compositions.

		Sunday Morning Gospel - Sun. 9:00 - 9:45 California Jeff & Anne Barnhart are joined by Steve Drivon and Joyce Grant to present a Sunday morning set of gospel music.

	Tom Brier
		Contemporary Ragtime - Sun. 9:45 - 10:30 Folsom Tom Brier plays a set of all contemporary ragtime.

	Tribute Concert to Trebor Tichenor (1940-2014)
		Friday, 3:00 – 4:15 pm, California Ballroom Sadly, the ragtime world lost legendary ragtime pianist, scholar, composer, and collector, Trebor Jay Tichenor this year. Max Morath leads us through a sampling of Tichenor’s own compositions, his folk ragtime influences, and music that was written or dedicated to him. Featured performers include: Marty Eggers, Max Keenlyside, Morten Larsen, Terry Parrish, David Thomas Roberts, Adam Swanson, and Virginia Tichenor. Emceed by Max Morath.

	Festival Sampler
		Friday 6:30 - 7:45 pm - California Ballroom With so many performers, and a few who haven’t appeared here for a few years, how do you decide who to hear? This is your chance to hear new and returning performers play in their own unique styles. Featured performers include: Paulo Alderighi, Mimi Blais, Danny Coots, Richard Dowling, Marty Eggers, Frederick Hodges, Brian Holland, Vincent Johnson, Max Keenlyside, Morten Larsen, Terry Parrish, Sean Sharp, Stephanie Trick. 	Cakewalk Demonstration
		Friday, 8:00 – 9:00 pm, Rancho Cordova Here’s your chance to strut your stuff. Everyone gets to do the cakewalk, the high-kicking, bending, bowing dance style of the Turn of the Century, to the music of the Porcupine Ragtime Ensemble. And when the cakewalk is over, there’s a slice of cake for everyone.

	Silent Movies
		Friday, 10:00 - 11:00 pm - California Ballroom On Friday evening, Frederick Hodges accompanies a silent movie called The Night Cry from 1926. David Shepard, an internationally renowned film preservationist, is providing the silent movie and historical commentary about the film. Shepard’s company, Film Preservation Associates, is responsible for many high quality DVD versions of silent films. Shepard began restoring films when he joined the American Film Institute in 1968 as one of their first staff members. In 1987, he bought the Blackhawk Films library. Mr. Shepard is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Night Cry (1926) - The Night Cry stars Rin Tin Tin, one of a litter of puppies found in a trench abandoned by the German Army during World War One. He was infinitely trainable and, to make a long story short, wound up in Hollywood, where his pictures saved Warner Brothers Studios at a time when closing its gates forever was a possibility. It says something about Hollywood that Time/Warner, which might not exist except for this dog, has never released a single Rin Tin Tin film to DVD. The Night Cry is also unusual because it features the world’s first and probably last trained California condor, Baldy. Rinty is suspected of Baldy’s sheep killings, and even his own humans think he’s to blame. Watch the dog as he goes from person to person in the family, seeking acceptance, and getting none, because they are all convinced he is a bad dog. Watch his face. If this scene doesn’t melt your heart, you don’t have one. This doggie can act!

	Youth Master Class
		Saturday, 10:00 – 11:00 am, Junior Ballroom On Saturday, November 8, 2014, West Coast Ragtime Society hosted its 10th annual Youth Piano Competition for young pianists ages 8 – 18. The first place winners from each division will be participating in a Master Class led by festival headliner, Jeff Barnhart. This event is open to all festival attendees. Come hear the future of ragtime!

	Junior Youth Set
		Saturday, 1 – 1:45 am, Carmel Room With so many young talented youth performers here at this year’s festival, come hear a sampling of our youngest players all in one set. This set features youth performers: Ramona Baker, Diego Bustamante, Enya Kuo, Sarah Krulder, and Graham Messer. Emceed by Chris Bradshaw.

	Ragtime 1914!
		Saturday, 6:30 – 7:45 pm, California Ballroom Every tune in this show is from 1914, when ragtime was the rage in America. Featured performers:, Elliott Adams, Clint Baker, Jeff Barnhart, Chris & Jack Bradshaw, Tom Brier, Crown Syncopators, Richard Dowling, Marty Eggers, Frederick Hodges, Brian Holland, Ivory & Gold, Max Keenlyside, Carl Sonny Leyland, Julia Riley, Sean Sharp, Sullivans/Drivons, Adam Swanson, Virginia Tichenor, Stephanie Trick, Kitty Wilson. 	Grand March
		Saturday, 8:00 pm, Rancho Cordova Hundreds of marchers parade through the hotel in the tradition of the ragtime era, led by the West Coast Marching Band. This year’s marching band is comprised of musicians here at the festival from Ivory & Gold, Pacific Coast Ragtime Orchestra, Porcupine Ragtime Ensemble, and Raspberry Jam Band, plus other surprise guests. So put on your finest attire and join the big parade!

	That Mysterious Rag: The Extraordinary World of Illustrated Songs
		Saturday, 10 pm, California Ballroom “Look! LOOK!! You’re whistlin’…” Ragtime and pianos, train and ocean travel, the latest dances, even that all-American sport baseball: All the latest, up-to-date trends and fads of the ragtime era are shown through the magical medium of illustrated songs, in a program of twelve numbers presented by Sean Sharp and Frederick Hodges. Be transported to a world spanning Memphis, Tennessee, to Constantinople, all while dancing the turkey trot and the bunny hug, illustrated by the projected images of gorgeous hand-colored, live-model slides of the period and accompanied by the raggy and lilting melodies of the likes of Irving Berlin, Kerry Mills and the Von Tilzer brothers, Albert and Harry. “Sneaky, freaky, ever melodious, MYSTERIOUS RAG!” Introductory comments by Max Morath.

	Youth Concert
		Sunday, 9:45 am – 10:45 am, California Ballroom The future of ragtime depends on the ragtime playing youth of today, so our festival provides opportunities for outstanding young ragtimers to spotlight their talents. All our youth performers are in this one show. Diego Bustamante, Vincent Johnson, Enya Kuo, Florian Kruger, Frank LiVolsi, Graham Messer, Daniel Souvigny, John Reed Torres, and Ryan Wishner. Emceed by Jeff Barnhart.

	Festival Finale
		Sunday, 4:00 – 5:30 pm, California Ballroom Come hear highlights of the festival all in one show for the last special concert of the festival. Seating capacity is limited, so buy your tickets ahead for this event to be assured a seat. Tickets will be on sale at the festival registration desk during the festival weekend.
